Graduating from Hamilton College in 1983, David L. Goldman continued on to Tulane University School of Law, graduating in 1987. The Florida Bar admitted him the same year he graduated and he began building his experience right away.
After Mr. Goldman was admitted to the Florida Bar, he began exclusively practicing in wrongful death and personal injury. Mr. Goldman was a managing partner in a successful, bustling personal injury practices that held offices up and down the West Coast of Florida before joining our law firm. David received a direct appointment for the Governor of Florida for the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit of Manatee, DeSoto and Sarasota Counties.
David L. Goldman has a list of impressive awards, associations and activities. He is a long-time member of the American Association of Justice and an Eagle member of the Florida Justice Association, organizations of trial lawyers who are dedicated to strengthening and upholding the civil justice system. David is also a member of the National Trial Lawyers, the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Million Dollar Advocate Forum, the Manasota Trial Lawyers Board, and he has been named the “10 Best Attorneys” by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys, all organizations that extend memberships to top attorneys who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results and leadership.
Community Involvement
David is well-known in the community. For more than three decades, David has served on the board of numerous civic and community organizations. David has served on the Board of Directors of Second Chance Last Opportunity for over twenty years and currently serves as the President of the organization’s Executive Board. Second Chance Last Opportunity is a local charitable organization, which as the name suggests works on giving individuals in crisis a second chance in life by providing them with the skills and tools they need to manage their lives more productively.
David also serves on the Scholarship Committee of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. Each year the Committee awards hundreds of thousands of dollars to deserving high school students upon their graduation so that they can afford to attend the college or institution of higher education of their choice.
For several years David served on the Board of Directors of the Gulf Coast Latin Chamber of Commerce, and has also served on the Board of the Sarasota-Manatee Jewish Community Center. He has been involved with a variety of local organizations such as the Westcoast Black Theater Troupe and Chabad-Lubavitch of Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
David has been active in various non-partisan political organizations. He had served as spokesperson for “Floridians for Fair Elections,” which helped enact an amendment to the State Constitution to reform the election laws of the State of Florida. He has been a regular guest columnist with the Bradenton Herald and was a co-publisher of the Sarasota County Watchdog, a consumer newsletter which promoted local government accountability.
David’s writings have been published in the St. Petersburg Times, Miami Herald, Orlando Sentinel, Tampa Tribune and Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
Throughout David’s career his focus has continuously been on fighting for the rights of his clients and helping them obtain the maximum compensation they deserve.
