Jake grew up in Venice Beach, California, and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in political science. He then graduated Cum Laude with his Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.
From the age of 16, Jake worked full-time in various jobs to help finance his education. His various roles included working as a personal trainer, as well as working in restaurants and hospitality, before completing law school and becoming a full-time attorney.
