Ms. Kompanian is a Bay Area native who has cultivated a distinguished career in law, marked by her dedication, achievements, and commitment to her community. Her journey began at The Harker School, followed by Presentation High School, and later the University of San Francisco, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Legal Studies. During her undergraduate years, Ms. Kompanian excelled academically, earning a place on the Dean’s List and securing a prestigious internship at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, laying the foundation for her future legal pursuits.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Ms. Kompanian pursued her passion for law at Lincoln Law School of San Jose. Here, she demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, receiving Academic Excellence Awards in subjects like Remedies, Wills and Trusts, and Moot Court. Her leadership and editorial skills shone as she served as the Articles Editor of the Lincoln Law Review. Ms. Kompanian’s dedication was further recognized with a series of scholarships, including the Eugenia C. Liontas Scholarship, highlighting her excellence in legal education.
During her time at Lincoln Law School, Ms. Kompanian was recruited by her Evidence Professor to serve as an intern at his criminal defense law firm, where she gained valuable courtroom experience assisting with misdemeanor and felony trials. This hands-on exposure deepened her understanding of litigation and solidified her path in law.
Upon passing the California Bar Exam on her first attempt, Ms. Kompanian embarked on a successful legal career. She quickly distinguished herself at a boutique law firm, specializing in family law litigation. Her exceptional skills and strategic acumen led to her elevation as a partner within two years—an accomplishment that underscored her legal prowess and dedication to her clients’ needs.
In 2019, Ms. Kompanian founded The Law Offices of Kamand Kompanian, APC, establishing herself as a formidable presence in family law across Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties. Although Ms. Kompanian primarily practices in Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties, she has also represented clients in various jurisdictions including San Mateo, Contra Costa, Alameda, Monterey, Fresno, and Los Angeles counties. Her reputation as a skilled litigator and advocate has been recognized with numerous awards, including being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star—an honor reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys in California.
